Valorant Sensitivity Guide: Best Sens, DPI & cm/360

Short answer: most Valorant players who aim well sit somewhere between 200 and 400 eDPI, and a common, safe starting point is 800 DPI with about 0.35–0.45 in-game sens (roughly 280–360 eDPI). That gives you enough precision for tap and burst duels without sacrificing the ability to flick onto a target that swings wide. Lock your DPI at 800, pick a sens inside that band, then refine it with the one-week test below rather than chasing whatever number a streamer used last patch.

How Valorant sensitivity actually works

Valorant sensitivity is a multiplier applied to a fixed engine yaw value. Each whole unit of sensitivity rotates your view a set number of degrees per "count" the mouse reports, and your DPI decides how many counts a centimetre of physical movement produces. Multiply the two and you get eDPI, the effective sensitivity that actually matters. Two players on wildly different mice — one at 400 DPI / 0.8 sens, another at 1600 DPI / 0.2 sens — have the identical 320 eDPI and the identical physical aim. That is why eDPI, not raw sens, is the language of sensitivity discussion.

Because the relationship is linear, you never need to touch DPI again once it is set. Pros overwhelmingly use 400 or 800 DPI for a clean, well-tracked sensor signal, then tune the in-game number. This guide assumes 800 DPI as the reference; if you run 400 DPI, double every sens value to hit the same eDPI.

Recommended eDPI ranges (low, medium, high)

There is no single "best" sensitivity, but there is a well-populated band that the vast majority of strong players live inside. Use this table as a map, not a rule:

Many Radiant and high-Immortal players land in the 200–350 eDPI zone — that is a generic tendency across the ranked ladder, not an endorsement of any one player's exact config. If you are unsure, start dead-centre at 320 eDPI (0.4 at 800 DPI) and adjust from there.

Converting your CS2 sensitivity to Valorant

If you are coming from Counter-Strike, you do not have to relearn your aim from scratch. The two games use different yaw constants, but the ratio between them is fixed. At the same DPI:

Why lower sensitivity helps tap accuracy

Valorant duels are won by the player whose crosshair is already near the head and who can place a precise tap. Lower sensitivity stretches each degree of in-game rotation across more physical mouse travel, so a 2–3 pixel correction onto a head becomes a deliberate, repeatable hand motion instead of a twitch your wrist can overshoot. That is the core reason the ranked ladder skews toward the low-to-medium band: precision compounds in a game built around standing still and tapping.

The trade-off is real, though. Too low and you cannot turn to clear a flank or react to a wide swing without lifting and repositioning the mouse mid-fight. The goal is the slowest sensitivity at which you can still do a 180 comfortably in one motion — that is usually the medium band for most desks.

The role of cm/360

cm/360 is how many centimetres you slide the mouse to spin a full circle in game. It is the one sensitivity measure that survives across DPI, engine and title, because it describes the physical world, not engine units. If your Valorant cm/360 is 35 cm and you set your aim trainer and CS2 to the same 35 cm, a single muscle memory carries across all three. Scoped sensitivity

Valorant has a separate scoped sensitivity multiplier for ADS weapons (Operator, Marshal, Guardian zoom). The default of 1.0 tries to keep angular speed roughly consistent when zoomed, but many players prefer to lower it slightly — commonly 0.9–1.0 — so the Operator feels heavier and easier to hold steady on a long angle.
