How to play Gridshot

Press PLAY, wait for the 3-2-1 countdown, and start clicking. Three circular targets are always alive on a 5×3 grid. Every kill instantly spawns a replacement somewhere else on the grid, so there is never a pause — the round is a continuous stream of short flicks and confirmations. Hits build a combo multiplier (up to 2× at 20 streak); a single miss resets it, so spraying wildly actually lowers your score.

Why Gridshot is the most-played aim scenario in the world

Gridshot (popularized by Aim Lab and KovaaK's) trains the exact loop every FPS firefight uses: detect → flick → confirm → next target. Because target positions are random but distances are short, it isolates target acquisition speed from long-range flick mechanics. It is the standard warmup scenario in pro CS2 and Valorant routines — typically 2–3 minutes before queueing, as covered in our aim training warmup routine.

Gold5,500–7,5001.4–1.880–88%

Three coaching cues that raise gridshot scores fast

  1. Eyes first. Lock your eyes on the next target before your hand starts moving. Eye-leading is the single biggest difference between Gold and Diamond scores.
  2. Stop on the target, not near it. Slightly undershoot and let a micro-correction finish the flick — overshooting costs a full re-aim.
  3. Don't outrun your accuracy. Push speed only while accuracy stays above ~85%. Speed with 60% accuracy builds bad motor habits, as explained in our aim training research summary.

Your personal best per mode is stored locally in your browser, so you can track progression day to day. For a structured plan, plug this scenario into the daily aim training routine or the routine database by skill level.

Frequently asked questions

Is this gridshot trainer really free?

Yes — completely free, no download, no account. It runs on HTML5 canvas in any modern browser, on desktop and mobile.

What is a good gridshot score?

In the 30-second mode, 5,500+ is solid (Gold tier), 7,500+ is Diamond, and 9,500+ with 93% accuracy is pro level. Kills per second of 2.0+ is an excellent benchmark.

Does gridshot actually improve my aim in Valorant or CS2?

Yes, for target acquisition and short flicks. It trains the detect-flick-confirm loop used in every duel. Pair it with our tracking trainer for smooth aim and the flick trainer for long-range snaps.

How long should I play gridshot per day?

2–3 minutes as warmup before ranked, or 2–3 sets of 60s inside a 15–30 minute training block. More than 10 minutes of one scenario gives diminishing returns.

Does it work on mobile and trackpad?

Yes. Targets scale to your screen and touch input works, though scores are naturally higher with a mouse.
